Family Day!

Family Day!

Dear Parents,

We would like to invite all of you to participate in our Children’s and Family Day.

When?

Wednesday, June 1st, between 2 and 4 pm (no clubs)

What should you expect?

A lot of fun!

We will start with a little musical performance prepared by your children, followed by various workshops and sport games lead by the teachers. These are meant for both, kids and adults, so join us on that special day.

English – we’re practicing sounding out the letters and putting them together into simple words (dog, dig, jam, bus, sun, run etc.)

Math – just started the topic on money and we’re currently learning the differences between a penny, a nickel, and a dime.

Science – motiom in the big word now! We’re investigating how things move. In zig zags? In a straight line? Maybe round and round?

Pre-K news

Pre-K news

We have been practicing our new concept words  (cold,fall,spring,summer,warm,winter)  we have been learning about what changes in each season.

We are still covering weather conditions and weather changes.

In math the kids have been counting and writing numbers.

We are still working with phonological awareness we will continue to blend two and three phoneme words .

We are really enjoying the weather it’s nice to have some of our lessons outside in the sun.

Science

We have continued to talk about the rain forest and practice our performance for international day. On Friday during our science lesson we had a presentation with a special guest where we leaned about bees.

English

This week we had spelling words that all ended with a “shun” sound (-cian, -sion, -tion). We continued our read aloud of the Boxcar Children. We also learned about bio poems, planned our writing, and each student wrote a bio poem about themselves.

Math

This week 3rd grade has been preparing and revising the topics for the final test. They learnt to construct angles using a protractor, revised the 2D and 3D shapes, money problems, addition and subtraction with regrouping as well as multiplication and division of big numbers.

English

This week we had spelling words that we frequently misspell. We finished our read aloud of the Boxcar children. We also did a lot of writing. Students wrote a journal about last week’s Art Week. We learned about bio poems and completed a sheet to help us plan our poems, and then each student wrote a bio poem about themselves.

Math

In math 2nd grade continued to practise measuring in meters and centimeters, comparing lengths and solving problems that include measurement.

Science

This week we talked about weather patterns during the day and throughout the year, the chang of seasons and how it affects living beings.
