Math

In math we practised reading scales and revised the standard metric units for length, mass and capacity. The students changed one unit into another, for example metres into centimeters and the other way round, using decimals. Finally they learnt how to count the perimeter and area of shapes.

Science

This week we learned about kinds of weather. We looked at the different types of clouds and what they mean. We identified what type of clouds were in the sky during our lesson.

English

We worked on some comprehension this week. We continued our read aloud of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We also have been using some of our English class time to work on our International Day performance.

Math

This week 2nd grade practised multiplication. They solved word problems and wrote their own stories to the given problems. They also learnt how to multiply a 2-digit number by a 1-digit number.

Science

In science we talked about magnets: how they work? what can they be used for? They learnt the difference between attracting and repelling. Then we did a revision of 3 kinds of energy: light, heat and sound and their proprieties.

English

This week we worked on two comprehensions. We also continued working on past tense verbs and played several games to help practice using them. We also continued with a read aloud of Bunnicula.
