This week we had a spelling test. Students also wrote a journal about being problem solvers and what this term means. We are just about finished with our persuasive essays that we have been working on for several weeks. This week students did peer editing with their essays. They each read and edited (corrected spelling, grammar, sentence structure) the essay of one of their classmates. When we finished peer editing, students started writing the final draft of their essay.
This week we spent the majority of our science lessons having presentations of projects. Each student prepared a science experiment and then showed it to the class. We saw eggs get sucked into a bottle, a dry ice bubble, a volcano, and much more!
In math we solved a lot of complex word problems requiring 2 steps to find a solution and we continued practising the strategy for dividing big numbers by a 1-digit number.
In science we talked about phases of the moon, seasons of the year and we revised the last chapter about Earth and Moon.
