Dear Parents,

Here is what we did last week:

English: We read a text about dolphins (focus on informational text type) and worked on our narrative writing skills (writing a true story). Since Friday is half a day, we will have our spelling test on Thursday this week.
spelling words: us, move, bump, clamp, clump, stamp, question, predict, observe, guess

Math: It’s geometry time! The kids have been working on getting to know the shapes from different angles, literally – right angle, acute angle, obtuse angle. They also tried constructing some shapes based on their characteristics: square, rectangle, trapezium, rhombus.

Science: We finished the topic of adaptations and looked at some changes taking place in the nature. The class got excited with floating straws experiment – showing how polar bear’s fur (its hairs are hollow inside) helps him to float in the water.

Dear parents,
Last week we worked on the sound “d”.
We continued our work on patterns in maths, practised sums to 7, and sorted and measured sticks.
We learned how to make snowflakes, and we made a beautiful winter/Christmas art project.
We also talked about old and new toys.
We had a lot of fun reading and watching the story of Stickman, and talking about sticks.
