This week we have been learning about the states of matter; solid, liquid, gas. We learned how these occur in water as ice, liquid water, and water vapor, but also how other forms of matter can change state.
This week we had a spelling and vocab test. We read an informational text about ecology and discussed why it’s important to protect the biosphere and how we can do that. We learned about several different types of poems: poems with metaphors, rhyming, and haikus. We learned about irregular verbs.
In math we learnt to multiply 2-digit numbers by 2-digit numbers with regrouping. We also continue word problems with addition and subtraction and division with remainders.
In Science we learned about the water cycle and reviewed all of the steps and the role the sun plays.
In Language Arts we read a nonfiction text about climbing mount everest. We wrote responses about why Temba wanted to reach the top of everest. We also discussed synonyms and antonyms
In math we continue learning 2 steps in subtraction. We also practiced adding full tens and creating word problems to a given equation.
In science we talk about weather and seasons. How to dress up according to the weather? Observing changes in weather from day to day. What is the work of a meteorologist about?
