English: We worked with a folktale, trying to identify characters, the problems they were facing and their reactions. Also, each child had an individual meeting to talk about their journals a little bit.
New spelling words: thing, string, sing, bring, spring, ring, king, sting, cling, sling
Math: We continued working on 2s, 5s and 10s times tables. This week we start a new topic, so the math books will be needed from Tuesday on. Deadline for completing all marked pages is the upcoming Friday.
Science: The topic of last week were natural resources and their products. We watched a video about how t-shirts and glass marbles were made (the second video was students’ choice). We tried to figure out which natural resources are the products around us made of.
The whole school celebrated The Book Week, so grade 2 students also had a chance to present their favorite books, take part in the reading competition (congratulations, Olivia!), and create wonderful bookmarks.
