3rd Grade News

3rd Grade News

For such a short week, we sure were busy! This week, the students completed their ecosystem projects! They created a “museum exhibit” of their chosen ecosystem using various art supplies. Our students have worked so hard on this project and should be proud of their hard work! The projects turned out amazing!
We also did a Thanksgiving experiment. The students needed to build a boat using only tin foil that would hold the most amount of pilgrims (marbles). In the end, we learned about buoyancy and had a great time doing it! The students presented their Thanksgiving presentation to the other classes and did a great job! We ended the week with a Thanksgiving-themed escape room.
Those who participated had a wonderful time in the Our Little Hospital workshop! They learned a lot about hospitals and anatomy. What fun!
I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving! I am thankful that I am your child’s teacher!

Our Little Hospital Workshops

Our Little Hospital Workshops

On Monday and Tuesday (November 25th and 26th) our students participated in Our Little Hospital workshops. They learnt about the role of human bones, blood cells, brain and other organs. They could listen to their own heartbeat with stethoscopes, check blood pressure and look at an ultrasound image. They made candy medicines and performed a surgery on a teddy bear. It was a very fun and educational experience!
