We did our last spelling test, did some more reading and text analysis, talked about states of matter, solved a few more word problems, and discussed about how life looked like in the past, but apart from that…
It has been quite a fun week! Just have a look:
We spent a lot of time rehearsing.
Participated in the art festival at the Big School.
Went for some ice-cream!
Presented our social studies timeline projects.
Last week the kindergarten children learned the sounds “x” and “ch”We listened to xylophone tunes, we talked about x-rays, and learned lots of words with an x in them. In science we learned about spiders, and made a mini book about them. In social studies we discussed travelling abroad and means of transport. We had lots of fun making our very own mini-pizzas on Tuesday!
We have been reviewing in all of our subjects this past week. We have been practicing for International day. We were joined together with the Kindergarten class for some of the lessons.
In math we revised long division and bar graphs. We also learnt about 3D shapes and the students made 3D shapes of nets.
In Language Arts we worked on reviewing some grammar from throughout the year.
In science we worked on our chapter involving simple machines. We also did a fun challenge where students had to keep and egg from breaking from a high fall using only the materials provided such as paper, a balloon, tissue paper, tape, and a few straws.
Last week we continued learning and practicing addition of 2-digit numbers with regrouping as well as some basic multiplication.
In science we talked about motion. How objects move? What types of movement do we know? What are forces?
