Our Kindergarten class has officially finished the last week of school in 2019! We are all very excited for the Holiday break, but before we start enjoying our freedom I would like to reminisce about this week.
In Language Arts, we have continued working on letter sound relations. This week, we mastered the /u/ and /l/ sounds.
In Maths, we continued practicing addition and working on our number sense.
In science, we finished our Plants unit.
But most of all, we had two very exciting events happen this week.
On Wednesday, we were able to invite you to our Christmas show where we signed and danced for you.
And on Friday, we held a Christmas party in our classroom. We shared a special lunch and watched a Christmas movie, a truly joyful end to the year!
With this in mind, I will like to wish all of You Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year. I hope this special time brings you joy and the time spent with family helps you recharge the batteries so we can start the new decade with a positive step!
In science we talked about food chains and food webs: consumers, producers and decomposers. The students have also revised what animals are carnivores, herbivores, omnivores and scavengers.
We have also had 2 special events in the class:
The Secret Santa, where the students brought gifts for one another. It was a lot of joy and fun!
The 2nd special event was a surprise Birthday party the class threw for their homeroom teacher. They practiced a dance routine, prepared a poster, decorations and food. There were cakes baked by the parents, presents (personalized M&M) and lots of cards! Thank you so much! I am very touched and grateful!
